30 /30 DAY 9-- Always be learning about marketing
April 9, 2016
We take the necessary training, practice, pass exams and get certifications. But how much time is actually spent in those classes, preparing us for running our business?
When you become an entrepreneur, you must take on doing several jobs. You’re not just seeing your clients – – you’re doing the paperwork, the bookkeeping, the marketing, the billing and whatever else needs to get done until such time you’re making enough money that you can hire people to do the work that you’re not so keen on doing.
So, at least in the beginning, one of those essential jobs that you take on is marketing. And, again, this is often a topic overlooked during training.
So, the solution is that you must train yourself. There is so much to learn about marketing. Whether it’s using social media, writing copy for your website, how to do podcasting ,write blog spots or record vlogs--- learning about marketing really could be a full-time job in itself.
The fact is, you can be a fantastic practitioner, capable of getting great results with your clients, but if nobody knows you even exist all that talent is wasted ! So, I recommend that you put some time away every week to educate yourself about how to market effectively.
A good place to start would be checking out the following names below – – all have great information and resources available for you
Amy Porterfield -- worked for Tony Robbins, wrote “Facebook for Dummies “and has extensive knowledge on social media marketing. You can find her podcasts on iTunes and other resources on her website . Not just for those looking for help with social media, Amy's podcasts include interviews of other marketing experts discussing their best practices.
John Lee Dumas— does a daily podcast called Entrepreneur on Fire that was awarded best of iTunes in 2013. Over 600 podcasts available on iTunes ,all interviews with inspiring and successful entrepreneurs.
Marie Forleo— Marie’s shtick is all about creating a business in life that you love. She is sassy, funny, and soooo informative. My favorite thing that Marie does is Marie TV which you can find on YouTube at this link . A lot of her information is really about the mindset required to be an entrepreneur
