30/30 DAY 25-- Take A Break

Sometimes we can be so focused on a goal or a problem that we cannot see the forest for the trees.
I am a big fan of goal setting, lists, checklists, plans, protocols and schedules.
I am also a big fan of creativity and some of my best creative ideas do NOT occur between 2 and 4 on a Wed. afternoon when I have scheduled in time for brainstorming solutions to a problem I am dealing with.
Those creative ideas come while I am taking a bath, doing a workout, driving in my car or hanging out eating popcorn and watching Netflix with my son. They come at some unscheduled time. Damn them
Typically they come when I am relaxed, having fun and not TRYING to force them. So... alongside setting goals and writing plans to achieve those goals, I also recommend balance, fun, laughter, playfulness and plenty of time that is NOT goal oriented.
