The Horizon Center School of Hypnotherapy
Professional Online Hypnotherapy Training
Learn to think like an experienced hypnotherapist through a comprehensive, self-paced training built on more than 25 years of real clinical practice.
Are you thinking about becoming a hypnotherapist?
Perhaps you have experienced hypnotherapy yourself and saw the difference it can make.
Maybe you are already a coach, counselor, therapist, social worker, or intuitive practitioner looking for another way to help the people you work with.
Or perhaps you are simply looking for meaningful work that allows you to understand people
more deeply and make a real difference in their lives.
Whatever brought you here, welcome.
The Horizon Center offers comprehensive online hypnotherapy training designed to help you become a thoughtful, capable practitioner who understands how the subconscious mind works and knows how to apply that understanding with real clients.
This is not a course built around memorizing scripts or collecting techniques.
You will learn how to listen for meaning, recognize patterns, understand why symptoms and behaviors developed, and build individualized sessions around the person sitting in front of you.
You will learn Whole Brain Hypnotherapy, the approach I developed through more than 25 years of clinical practice.
The core curriculum is completely self-paced, so you can learn around your work, family, and other commitments.
And if you want more live learning, practice, demonstrations, feedback, or personal support, you can add workshops, Ask Me Anything sessions, Supervised Practice Labs, Inside the Session, Private Training Support, and memberships as you move through the program.
Whether your goal is to begin a new career, add hypnotherapy to work you already do, or understand the subconscious mind more deeply, this training gives you the foundation, practical skills, and clinical thinking needed to do the work well.
Want to experience the training before deciding?

Why Choose Horizon Center for Online Hypnotherapy Training?
There are many ways to learn hypnotherapy online.
Some programs focus primarily on techniques.
Others teach scripts for different goals and symptoms.
Those tools can be useful, but real clients rarely arrive and behave exactly the way a script expects them to.
A client tells you something during the consultation that changes your original theory.
A symptom does not seem to fit the story you have been hearing.
A memory or association comes up unexpectedly.
The goal changes.
The technique you planned does not seem to fit anymore.
Those moments do not come with instructions.
They require you to think.
That is the gap this training was created to fill.
After working with thousands of clients, I have learned that successful hypnotherapy is rarely about finding the perfect technique.
It is about understanding the person in front of you.
Two people can walk into your office with the same goal and need completely different work
because their subconscious minds arrived at that response for completely different reasons.
That is why I teach students to ask:
What is this response accomplishing?
When did it begin to make sense?
What experiences or messages helped create it?
What does the subconscious believe it is protecting the person from?
What information does it need in order to update that old understanding?
Those questions lead to much more individualized work than simply asking:
“Which script do I use?”
Throughout the training, you will learn how to ask better questions, organize the information a client gives you, recognize meaningful patterns, develop hypnotic arguments, and adjust your approach as your understanding of the client changes.
My goal is not to create practitioners who know a large collection of techniques.
It is to teach you how to understand why you are doing what you are doing.
What Is Whole Brain Hypnotherapy?
Most hypnotherapy approaches focus heavily on the subconscious mind.
Students learn how to induce hypnosis, use imagery, deliver suggestions, and communicate with the subconscious.
Those are important skills.
But after years of working with clients, I noticed that lasting change was often easier when the person’s conscious and subconscious minds were both moving toward the same conclusion.
A client may consciously understand that they are safe while the subconscious continues responding as if an old danger is still present.
Or the subconscious may be receptive to a new suggestion while the logical mind is quietly thinking:
“That sounds nice, but I don’t believe it.”
When the two are arguing with each other, change becomes harder.
Whole Brain Hypnotherapy was developed to bring both into the process.
We help the client understand:
Why the response developed.
Why it made sense when it began.
What the subconscious was trying to accomplish.
What has changed since then.
What evidence now exists that the old response is no longer necessary.
That understanding becomes part of the hypnosis itself.
The Hypnotic Argument
One of the concepts you will learn throughout the training is what I call the hypnotic argument.
A hypnotic argument is a logical, personalized case made to the subconscious using the client’s own history and experiences.

Curious about hypnotherapy and want to experience this approach firsthand?
You’re invited to book a complimentary consultation and hypnosis session on Zoom. This gives you a real sense of how I work, what this training is rooted in, and whether the approach feels like a fit for you.
It’s an experiential way to explore the work without pressure or obligation.
Learn to Think Like a Hypnotherapist
Learning how to hypnotize someone is only part of becoming a good hypnotherapist.
The harder skill is learning what to do with the information a client gives you.
Throughout the training, you will learn how to:
• Conduct consultations with purpose rather than simply collecting information
• Listen for events, beliefs, associations, messages, and protective responses
• Organize client information using the ABC framework
• Recognize patterns that may help explain the current symptom or behavior
• Identify possible root causes without requiring clients to relive painful experiences
• Create personalized hypnotic arguments
• Choose techniques based on the individual client
• Adapt your work when new information changes your understanding
• Work effectively with analytical clients
• Work in light, medium, and deeper hypnotic states without depending on depth for results
• Use the conscious mind as an ally
• Think throughout the session rather than simply following a predetermined process
Over time, the question changes from:
“What am I supposed to say next?”
to:
“What is happening here, and what does this particular client need?”
That shift is one of the most important parts of becoming a capable practitioner.
Online Hypnotherapy Training Should Be More Than Watching Videos
You can learn a great deal from a lesson.
But reading about consultations is not the same as conducting one.
Watching someone build a hypnotic argument is not the same as learning to create one yourself.
Understanding the structure of a session is not the same as adapting that structure when the person in front of you responds in a way you did not expect.
That is why the Horizon Center training includes practical application as well as theory.
You begin by learning the principles.
Then you begin applying them.
You complete assignments that help you think about what you are learning.
You work with volunteers.
You submit consultations and recorded sessions for feedback.
And if you want even more practice, observation, teaching, or personal support, you can add live learning opportunities along the way.
Confidence develops through experience.
The training is designed to help you build that experience gradually rather than expecting you to suddenly feel ready because you finished watching the lessons.
A Learning Experience That Grows With You
The self-paced curriculum is the foundation of the Horizon Center training.
But every student learns differently.
Some students are happy moving through most of the program independently.
Others want as much live teaching, observation, practice, and interaction as possible.
You can choose the level of support that works for you.
Self-Paced Professional Training
Work through comprehensive online lessons on your own schedule.
You can revisit material whenever you need to and take the time you need to understand both the techniques and the reasoning behind them.
Live Workshops
See techniques demonstrated, experience them yourself, practice with other students, and receive feedback.
Workshop topics range from foundational hypnosis skills to more advanced interventions and practical applications.
Ask Me Anything Sessions
Bring questions about the curriculum, techniques, volunteers, client situations, clinical thinking, confidence, or building a practice.
These live discussions are shaped by the questions students bring, which means every meeting is different.
Supervised Practice Lab
Move from understanding the material to actually doing it.
Over four consecutive Saturdays, you are paired with another student and take turns as both practitioner and client.
You work from consultation through three hypnosis sessions while receiving teaching, planning support, observation, and feedback.
It is a structured way to practice before working more independently.
Inside the Session Lab
Watch real client work unfold from consultation through a series of hypnosis sessions.
You will see what I listen for, how I organize information, why I choose a particular direction, how my understanding changes as new information emerges, and what I do when a session does not go according to plan.
It is an opportunity to see the thinking behind the work, not simply the finished technique.
Private Training Support
Sometimes you need an hour focused entirely on you.
Private Training Support gives you dedicated one-on-one teaching time with me.
We can review course concepts, practice techniques, prepare for volunteer sessions, review ABC charts, develop hypnotic arguments, talk through cases, or focus on whatever would help you most at that point in your training.
Memberships
Want access to all of it?
Memberships bring the live learning opportunities together so you do not have to register for everything separately.
Depending on the membership you choose, you can receive regular access to AMAs, workshops, Inside the Session, recordings, teaching notes, replay libraries, and private one-on-one time with me.
Students who make use of these additional opportunities can actually receive more live learning and supervised practice with me than students received when I taught the entire training live in person or on Zoom.
You still have the freedom of self-paced training.
You simply decide how much additional live learning and personal support you want along the way.
What Students Say About the Training
I can tell you how I teach and what I believe makes this training different.
But sometimes it is more useful to hear from the people who have actually taken it.
“Of all the post-secondary and continuing education I have done, this was by far the most value for the money. She has the rare quality of being a phenomenally talented practitioner and also an engaging teacher. Not everyone can excel at both roles, but she does.”
Carmen Spagnola
“It is a comprehensive program that covers everything I needed to know to start my practice: theory, techniques, ethics, applications, starting a business and more. Linda presents the material with skill and compassion and draws the best out of her students.”
Liana Foley, Arbutus Hypnotherapy
“Linda provided me with a thorough, evidence-based, up-to-date education in hypnosis that has allowed me to create a successful practice. Linda is unique in that she actually cares about her students.”
Oceanna Hall, B.Sc., M.Div., M.Ed., Clinical Specialist, RCCH
“The course exceeded my expectations. We were given many opportunities for hands-on practice under careful supervision, to which I credit the ease with which I was able to launch my own practice upon completing the course.”
Niki Martin, Monarch Trancework
Why I Teach Hypnotherapy This Way
When I began practicing hypnotherapy in 1999, I had no idea I would eventually spend so much of my career teaching it.
Like many practitioners, I began by learning techniques and studying different approaches.
Then I started working with real people.
The more clients I saw, the more questions I had.
Why could the same technique work beautifully with one person and make very little difference for another?
Why did two people with the same symptom sometimes need completely different work?
Why did insight sometimes create change and other times seem to accomplish almost nothing?
Why did some suggestions seem to land easily while others appeared to bounce straight back out?
Over thousands of client sessions, patterns began emerging.
Symptoms that initially looked irrational often made complete sense once I understood the person’s history.
Behaviors that looked self-defeating often began as attempts to protect, cope, belong, avoid danger, or meet an important need.
And again and again, I saw that the subconscious does not necessarily update an old conclusion simply because years have passed.
Those observations became the foundation of Whole Brain Hypnotherapy.
My background in education also strongly influences the way I teach.
I do not want students simply memorizing what I say.
I want you to understand why.
Why are you asking that question?
Why does that information matter?
Why might you choose this technique?
Why might you avoid another one?
Why did the subconscious develop this response?
What would need to change for it to update?
If you understand the reasoning, you are much better equipped when a real client does something you were not expecting.
That is the kind of practitioner I want to help you become.

Both can do very well here.
