Learn Your Way

A self-paced curriculum doesn't have to mean learning alone.

One of the biggest misconceptions about online learning is that you're expected to sit by yourself, watch videos, and somehow emerge feeling confident enough to work with real clients.

That isn't how most people learn.

Some people thrive working independently.

Others learn best by asking questions, watching demonstrations, practicing with other students, and receiving feedback.

The truth is that most of us need a little of both.

That's why the Horizon Center is designed differently.

The professional training gives you a comprehensive, self-paced curriculum that you can work through

whenever it fits your schedule.

From there, you decide how much live support you'd like.

Some students simply work through the curriculum on their own.

Others want opportunities to practice, ask questions, observe sessions, or receive mentoring.

The choice is yours.

Why I Changed the Way I Teach

For many years I taught my professional training live.

Students met with me one full weekend every month over the course of a year.

There was something I loved about that format.

Watching students grow.
Answering unexpected questions.
Seeing confidence develop through practice.
Working through real cases together.

Then life changed.

The pandemic moved everything online.

Later, I moved to Mexico and found myself at a different stage of both my life and my career.

I no longer wanted to commit students, or myself, to a year-long schedule.

What I wanted was something more flexible.

Something that allowed students to get exactly the support they needed, when they needed it.

So instead of recreating the old classroom online, I built something I believe works even better.

Rather than requiring everyone to attend every lesson live, the core curriculum is available whenever you're ready for it.

Then, throughout the year, I offer live learning experiences that let you deepen your skills, ask questions, practice techniques, observe real sessions, and receive mentoring.

You choose what fits your learning style.

Build the Training Experience That's Right for You

Some students simply want the curriculum.

Others want a classroom experience.

Others want ongoing mentoring.

Instead of forcing everyone into the same format, you can build the learning experience that fits your goals.

Ask Me Anything (AMA)

One of my favorite parts of teaching has always been answering questions.

Students ask things I never would have thought to include in the curriculum.

Those conversations often become the most valuable learning of all.

That's why I created the AMA sessions.

Twice each month we meet live on Zoom for 90-minute discussions.

Bring questions about:

  • your clients

  • techniques

  • the curriculum

  • building your practice

  • ethical situations

  • clinical thinking

  • or anything else related to hypnotherapy.

Attend individual sessions whenever you'd like,

or join the AMA Membership for ongoing access plus an ever-growing library of previous discussions.

Sometimes you'll come with a question.

Sometimes you'll discover the answer to a question you didn't even know you had by listening to someone else's.

Practical Workshops

Learning happens when you actually do the work.

Throughout the year I offer live workshops designed to help you build confidence through experience.

Some workshops focus on a specific intervention or clinical skill.

Others explore an entire section of the curriculum in much greater depth.

You'll experience the techniques yourself, practice them with other students, receive feedback, and ask questions as you go.

Workshop topics vary throughout the year, allowing you to choose the subjects that interest you most.

If you're a mentoring member, every workshop is included, along with access to the recordings afterward.

Inside the Session Lab

Reading about therapy is one thing.

Watching it unfold with a real client is something entirely different.

Each month you'll sit beside me, virtually, as I work with one client through a consultation and three hypnosis sessions.

You'll watch the work unfold naturally over several weeks.

Before each session I teach the concepts we'll likely be exploring.

Afterward, we discuss what happened, why I made the decisions I did, and what I might do differently moving forward.

You'll also receive:

  • recordings

  • teaching notes

  • my clinical reasoning

  • session resources

  • scripts

  • the client's ABC chart

It's one of the closest things you'll experience to sitting beside an experienced practitioner in private practice.

Mentoring Memberships

Some students want occasional support.

Others want an ongoing learning community.

The mentoring memberships bring everything together.

Depending on the membership you choose, you'll receive access to:

  • AMA Sessions

  • Practical Workshops

  • Inside the Session Lab

  • the complete recording libraries

  • and, at the highest level, one-on-one mentoring with me.

If your goal is to recreate the richness of live training while still enjoying the flexibility of self-paced learning,

this is the closest experience to being in my classroom.

You'll have opportunities to learn, practice, ask questions, observe, receive feedback,

and continue developing your confidence long after you've completed the core curriculum.

More Live Learning Than My Former Classroom Program

Students who choose the mentoring membership can receive more live learning and support each month than students received when I taught the entire program as a live class.

My former students attended one full weekend each month. That was 16 scheduled hours, but once lunch and comfort breaks were included, the actual teaching time was closer to 12½ or 13 hours.

The mentoring membership can provide approximately 15½ to 24½ hours of live learning and support each month, depending on the length of that month’s workshop.

This includes:

  • Eight hours inside the monthly Inside the Session Lab

  • Three hours of live AMA discussions

  • A practical workshop lasting from three hours to a full weekend

  • Up to 90 minutes of individual mentoring with me

The live time is also more focused than it was in my former classroom program.

When I taught the full training live, much of our time was spent covering material that is now available inside the self-paced curriculum. Students can study that content carefully, revisit it whenever needed, and move through it at a pace that allows them to absorb it.

I can then use our live time for the parts of the training that benefit most from interaction: demonstrations, practice, questions, feedback, real client observation, clinical thinking, and the concepts I believe are most important for students to fully understand.

For students who attend all the live opportunities, this creates a learning experience that is at least as thorough as my former classroom training, with more live contact, greater flexibility, and more personalized support.

Start Where You Are

Some students never need anything beyond the curriculum.

Others participate in every live opportunity I offer.

Neither approach is better.

The important thing is that you're able to build the learning experience that fits your schedule,

your goals, and the way you learn best.

The curriculum gives you the foundation.

The live experiences help you bring it to life.
